HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

JUNE 12, 2017
A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCES THIS PAST WEEKEND!

Words cannot convey how proud I am of every single
student in this past weekend’s Spring Performance. Many
of them started their training with Paris Ballet and Dance back from when I opened the school, while others have joined us over the years. As they get stronger, I and all my teachers work diligently to give them the best dance education available in the area. This past weekend, they certainly brought that and all their best to the stage.

There are so many people to thank. First and foremost, my staff is incredible! Karen Manucy and Joseph J.
Bucheck III , Kristen Lenihan, Risselle Alexandra Portuondo, Emily Schubert and Stefanie Wolfington literally volunteered countless amounts of their time, and extraordinary talent and skills for many of the rehearsals, before and during the run of the show, and after as well.

Thank you Sandra Baran the Director of Jupiter Academy of music and her student Melody Sze for appearing and their accompaniment for “Spanish Dance” on Sunday night.

Thank you to my army of volunteers for this show: Erika DeOreo, Janet DeMarco, Jodi Flanigan, Agnes Frank, Angela Gutierrez, Lavonda Harris, Stephanie Higginbotham, Nicole Joslin, Christi Keavy, Michael Keavy, Roxy King-Curran, William Linn, Devon Luxton, Julie Luxton, Steve Luxton, Lindsay Moretti, Angie Moye, James Nobel, Karen Nobel, Michael Pachelli, Leroy Roberts, Suzanne Rothman. The hours they spent helping getting he show ready, working backstage before, during and afterwards cleaning up is so valuable to me, the school, and each individual student. It is extremely difficult for a great |school cannot function without this kind of help and support!

Thank you Devon Luxton, Julie Luxton and Steve Luxton not only for Titania’s exquisite bed in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” but getting it to and from the theatre.

Thank you Liz Diamaino for her help at the box office. Thank you Mia Damiano for her help loading in before the show, and backstage. Thank you to Kari Hurmemaa and Rocky Hurmemaa for staying afterwards, after performing in both shows, to help load out and getting everything back to the studio -- each night!

Thank you Tangi Colombel for loading in, working the front of house, loading out, and the backbreaking help with the Marley floor, while getting everything else back to the studio. You know your help and daily support is appreciated beyond anything!

A huge thank you to all the parents of the school. Working with your children is a delight!  I know I work them hard while they dance and rehearse however, instilling in them the value of commitment and hard work can truly be seen in their daily development not only as young dancers but as growing responsible young men and women. This past weekend’s show only enforces that!

A fond and bittersweet farewell to Kaitlyn Youmans as she has graduated high school this year, leaving the "nest" and is moving on to the next adventure in her life – college. She was always a delight in class. She worked hard and always was completely dedicated. We all wish her the very best

There is a lot happening this Summer. Please, don’t forget to register for the Summer Programs which we are offering. If you have not pre-registed for next year, do so as soon as possible. Open Registration begins in July. Always check the website for changes and additions. Follow the school on Facebook for additional information and great photos, and follow both the School and Conservatory on their Instagram pages.

I wish everyone a wonderful Summer. As I go to France to teach at "Stage International de Danse d'Arcachon" on the South Eastern Coast of France near Bordeaux, I will return for the Summer Intensive in which I will see everyone before the 2018 | 2019 dance year begins. I am looking forward to the many surprises which are in the works for the upcoming year!

Sincerely,
Director Jean-Hugues Feray

A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR - MALL  PERFORMANCES
Our shows at the Gardens Mall of excerpts of a Midsummer Night’s Dream were incredible! The audiences
were great and very responsive. Many people came up afterwards to ask about the school. I am so happy and proud of the entire cast of wonderful young dancers.  While it may not always be easy to perform in such a situation, it is a vital part of their education. After working so hard to put a show like this together, I can truly say, everyone did an incredible job!

Thank you to the Gardens Mall, Whitney Pettis and Kaci Hanner for hosting the event. Thank you to L'Occitane en Provence, Vera Bradley and Aveda for providing such wonderful gift baskets for raffles.

Thank you to my wonderful and supportive staff who came, and volunteered their time to help make the show successful. On every level, Karen Maucy’s devotion, dedication, organizational skills and other abilities
cannot be surpassed. From planning, packing, to backstage during the show and getting everything to the
venue and back to the studio, an event like this could not be done without her! Thank you to Stefanie Wolfington who was excellent with helping backstage with hair, makeup, dressing and other important duties. As always, thank you to Joseph J. Bucheck III for his devotion and support with his help backstage including with make-up, hair, and taking care of performers, while running around doing whatever else had to be done. He also helped packing, cleaning the dressing room and went to the studio with us afterwords.

Extra special thanks go to all the other volunteers who helped out to make sure every child is taken care of.
Michael Keavey was an excellent sound technician. Shenna Golish, Erika DeOreo, and Suzanne Rothman
were a great help backstage, as well.

Angelia Gutierrez is always amazing with wardrobe as she works countless and tireless hours for every single student. I must say, it is a difficult and often a thankless job which she does so well!

Special mention to Mia Diamiano and her sister Liana Diamiano for helping during and  afterwards, and of course, Michael and Christi Keavy for getting the huge and heavy rolls of Marley floor back to the studio. Thank you Leroy Roberts for helping me get the Marley floor to the Mall in the morning and for helping me lay it down. Also, thank you to the Luxton and Flanigan families for helping with the floor after the event.

All opportunities for performing are so important, especially for young dancers.  It is great to see Paris Ballet has had so many occasions for students to present their talents. Remember, tickets are still available for the Spring performance on June 9 and 10, 2018!
Let's keep making a difference.

OPEN HOUSE A SUCCESS AND FUN

Paris Ballet’s Annual Open House on May 4, 2018 was a great success and so much fun. Each year more people attend, and more are attracted to come in to look everything over and ask questions. This year alone, there were a record number of new people asking about regular classes, and The Conservatory!

Director Jean-Hugues Feray put together a great and exciting demonstration for the live performances held in the Studio 2. Parents, family, friends and guests were truly delighted by the display of talent!

Thank you to the many donors who generously gave towards the Silent Auction. Karen and James Nobel, Liz Oliver, Mrs. Moretti, Connie Garcia, and the teachers who donated their time for private lessons.

Thank you to Paris Ballet’s dedicated staff members. Karen Manucy with her expertise, organized and worked the entire event. She was also there on her time off after hours, and goes way beyond her call of duty. Joseph J. Bucheck III who also volunteered his time to help set up, clean before, during and afterwards, and “crowd control.” He always does whatever else needs to be done. Stefanie Wolfington also was a great help getting everything ready including getting items together for the Silent Auction from Levels 4 and 7! Thank you to Julie Luxton and Christi Keavy for their help setting up, as well. Thank you Tangi Colombel for tending bar, keeping things tidy and his behind-the-scenes support.

DEVON LUXTON WINS FIRST PLACE (Updated: March 15)

Congratulations to thirteen year old Paris Ballet and Dance Student Devon Luxton's win at First Place at the Junior Men’s Semi-Finals at Youth America Grand Prix in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday, March 3, 2018. While only dancing for eighteen months, Devon’s First Place win allows him the rare opportunity of now being invited to New York City to compete in the Finals this year.

Addison Joslin who also competed did very well with very high scores, true elegance, and was an audience favorite!

Youth America Grand Prix is considered the American Olympics of the dance world. It is adjudicated by the top names in international dance. The competition is attended by scouts representing major dance companies from all over the world. It can be easily the next step for a dancer into the professional field.

FEBRUARY 19, 2017
MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
GREAT AUDITION FOR THE SPRING PERFORMANCE

Dear Dancers and Parents,
The audition this past weekend for  A Midsummer Night’s Dream was phenomenal! It was incredible to see every dancer working so hard while putting themselves “out there.”  There were also movements and dramatic requests which may have been foreign, and new to them. They all did their best which made me proud to watch!

Let me tell you now, this show will be very difficult to cast.  We all saw some truly great things during the audition. Plus, there are other factors which are also important to consider when casting any show.

As everyone knows, I rely on the help of our expert and talented judges during auditions. I look at and take their recommendations very seriously.  So, a huge “thank you” to this past weekend’s judges Stefanie Wolfington (for the younger levels) and Idael German (for the older levels).

Every single role is important. Understand casting a show is not done lightly. I must take many things into consideration. It is a well-thought out process. Casting will be up within a few weeks.

Now, with auditions over, and after the list goes up, rehearsal s start immediately in March. I guarantee it’s going to be another great Paris Ballet production!

Sincerely,
Director Jean Hugues Feray

A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR - GREAT KRAVIS PERFORMANCE

Dear all Dancers, Families and Patrons,
Words cannot express my pride in our SOLD OUT performance at the Kravis Center this past Sunday on February 11. It was a long day and everyone danced so beautifully while giving their all. Thank you all for attending! This particular show meant so much to me because I was able to present my wonderful dancers in the very theatre in which I had performed for many years while I was a professional dancer with Ballet Florida.

I would like to thank the entire staff of the Kravis Center for their warm hospitality and help. Thank you to Liz Diamiano, Angela Gutierrez,  Levonda Harris, Christi Keavy, Michael Keavy, Kristen Lenehan, James Nobel, and Joseph J. Bucheck III. These are my incredible army of committed volunteers on the list who helped before, during and after the performance. And as always, a huge thank you to Karen Mauncy for her incredible organizational skills while having things ready to go for the performance and afterwards, and getting it all unpacked and put away. It’s an enormous job! We absolutely cannot have these wonderful performances without their help.
