A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
I would like to say how proud I am of all my students for his past weekend's performances of The Nutcracker Sweet at the Els Center of Excellence. It can be very difficult to adapt to a smaller stage and different surroundings. Of course, they did, and they did it well. Congratulations!
Thank you to Mrs. Hedge, Nicole Poundstone, and everyone at the Els Center for their endless help in organizing the show, selling tickets at the door, and making Paris Ballet and Dance feel welcome!
From rehearsals to all technical details, it takes a lot of work to get performances no matter their size, to the stage. I am very fortunate to have a great staff, volunteers, and families who are so supportive of their children, and Paris Ballet and Dance.
Thank you to my staff who were there and worked so hard including Karen Manucy (for all her per-organization and devotion to Paris Ballet and Dance), and Kristen Lenihan and Johanna Hurmemaa (for their work before, during and after the performances – they put in a very long day) and, Michael Pachelli (for his work with lights and sound in the booth). Thank you to Costume Designer Will Linn for volunteering his time – all day, (to help Joseph J. Bucheck III as Mother Ginger). Thank you Tangi Colombel (for his tireless efforts to help my, and your dreams come true!)
Thank you to all the wonderful and devoted parents who helped make this show happen including; Christi Keavy, Yeni Leyva, Alison Colbert, Sue De Marco, Erika DeOreo, Missy Megginson, Emily Stewart, Angela Guitierrez, Cristina Ciolacu, Barbra Francisco, Angela Gutierrez, and Jeanette Medina. Not only did these moms help get the costumes, hair, make-up, and dancers ready for the show, but helped make sure all the children were safe and well-cared for, as always! They also packed up everything, and helped during the load-out. It was also a very very long day for them!
After the show, it took, over five fully-packed cars and SUVs, plus two trucks to get everything back to the
studio. Thank you to all the extra people with their added help getting us to, and loading everything back at the studio including, Leroy Roberts, Mr. Leyva and Joseph Bucheck III.
With the Full-Length Ballet, and the "Sweet," it has truly been a glorious run of The Nutcracker!
Winter Break is coming up starting December 23. However during the break, I will be working very closely with my eight dancers who are competing in Youth American Grand Prix Semi-Finals in Tampa. Also, I will be working with students who auditioning for Bak Middle School of the Arts, and Dreyfoos School of the Arts, as well.
Let's keep on making a difference!
Sincerely,
Jean-Huhues Feray

Incredibly intense rehearsals, and coaching are underway to prepare eight Paris Ballet and Dance Advanced Ensemble, and Paris Ballet Conservatory students for the Youth America Grand Prix Semi-Final Competition in Tampa from January 5 through 8, 2017.
Youth America Grand Prix is like the Olympics of the dance world. Only the best and brightest should compete. Many young dancers are also scouted by professional companies, and other top schools and academies throughout the world at these competitions! Competitors must always bring their "A" game.
Olivia Colbert, Kiersten Disque, Rocky Hurmemaa, Addison Joslin, Emilie Leyva, Ericca Leyva, Clare Keavy and Maggie Stewart are well on their way to make a great showing for the School and Conservatory!
DECEMBER 7, 2016
Due to the large amount of response and inquiries, the Registration Deadline for Magnifique Ballet Intensive has been moved to January 22. This is also the same date as the Audition. It is important to get all the paperwork from The Kravis Center before that date in order to alleviate confusion, and cut down on registration time.
Video auditions may also be submitted with the proper paperwork and fees.

Special "thank you's" to Karen Manucy for her incredible organizational skills in the preparing this production to be ready to go onstage, and during the load-in, run and and the load out. A show this size, could not have been done without her! Her devotion to me, and to Paris Ballet and Dance goes way beyond the "call of duty". Also, Tangi Colombel has always been there from the beginning with his help, talent, and endless devotion and patience.

DECEMBER 2, 2016
Last night was the final studio run-thru of The Nutcracker before the cast moves to the theatre today. Ms. Hurmemaa, and Mr. Bucheck rehearsed the dancers - who worked extremely well.
Director Mr. Feray, and Ms. Manucy worked all day, and well into the evening with the theatre crew during the load-in to ensure everything was ready. This includes moving over six and fifty hundred costumes and props, hanging the sets, and placing everything in dressing rooms and on the correct sides of the stage. They both will also be there before the cast arrives in the afternoon.
From the Paris Ballet and Dance Staff, Theatre Staff, and volunteers, it takes a lot of work to get a production of this quality to the stage. Add to that, the amount of rehearsal time. This is why shows are great!

NOVEMBER 21, 2016
Thank you Abigail Simon for the Master Classes
...And they were beyond incredible!
Students were able to take class and receive corrections, and wisdom from a great teacher who is still dancing professionally -- in leading roles! With ballet being consistent, it was important to for students to hear the exact same things being taught to them on a daily basis by Mr. Feray.
Ms. Simon also answered questions about being a professional dancer. She did so honestly and to the point.
She also had a few days in Jupiter so, to stay in shape
for her upcoming appearances as Sugar Plum Fairy, she took class with the advance students. She also had a private coaching session with Paris Ballet and Dance's very own Sugar Plum, Victoria Volpe!
NOVEMBER 19
The Nutcracker Holiday Party was so much fun! Parents, Students, staff and volunteers had a great time just being with each other in a location other than the lobby of the studio. Everyone prepared so much delicious snacks and food!
Thank you to Karen and James noble from Kids Need More Art for hosting this great event!

Paris Ballet Conservatory students Emily and Ericca Leyva, Olivia Colbert and Maggie Stewart will appear in a special presentation at St. James Christian Academy in Ft. Pierce on November 18. The girls will be dancing the variations which they will be performing at the upcoming Youth American Grand Prix Competition, PLUS the Contemporary work they performed at last year's Spring Performance.
The Leyva girls started in this school when they were three and four years old. It is very special for many of their old teachers to see them again dancing. The school knew the girls left so they could home-school in order to pursue their dreams of dance at The Paris Ballet Conservatory
NOVEMBER 16, 2016
This past week, the studio has been looking more and more like Drosselymeyer's workshop with all the new
creations being made for The Nutcracker. It has been exciting to see the process from designs to final "product's".
Since Thanksgiving Weekend is pretty much "work free", this weekend HAS to be the first FULL COSTUME run-through, and work has been in a high gear. Costumes seem to be everywhere. Last minute fittings are at a frenzy! Staff, dancers and volunteers are working so diligently to ensure the performances will be great!
NOVEMBER 14, 2016
Director Jean-Hugues Feray is very proud to announce that in this year's production of The Nutcracker, roles which are usually cast with guest artists, will be danced by Paris Ballet and Dance's very own advanced, and talented students.
Emill Hurmemaa will be dancing the role of Sugar Plum Cavalier. Emill has danced since he was a little boy. He studied at Miami City Ballet. They moved to Ballet Florida under the Artistic Direction of the great Marie Hale, Dance Florida Academy, then with Colleen Smith's Palm Beach Ballet, and in Europe at Toompea Ballet School in Estonia, where he was prominently featured.
Over the past three years, Emill has rounded off and polished his dance education at Paris Ballet and Dance. He was also accepted into the Joffrey Ballet New York Advanced Trainee Program though; he chose to continue his dance studies at Paris Ballet and Dance, which he happily considers his “home” studio. While at Paris Ballet and Dance he has danced many important roles. Last year he was selected by the Director to be the elegant Prince in Cinderella.
Now eighteen years old, and though an extremely talented and gifted dancer, he has chosen to follow his life-long dream of becoming a pilot. By the end of the month he will achieve his private license, and will continue to study to gain his commercial and multi-engine license. His plans are to join the Navy and become a jet-fighter pilot.
With all his advanced flight studies, he still manages to love dance, and take as many classes as he can!
Note: In the past, Emill has performed a Party Guest, Rat King, and Mechanical Soldier, and Russian Soloist
in The Nutcracker.
Riley Visker will be dancing in the Arabian Pas de Deux. He started dancing with Paris Ballet around the
age of eight. As a sophomore at School at Dreyfoss School of the Arts (where he has been selected to dance many various roles), he is also a very accomplished academic student.
With his incredible athleticism, desire, sense of style and wonderful wit, he has already achieved so much. As a younger dancer, he was accepted and studied at Joffrey Chicago Summer Intensive. He has also attended summer intensives at Texas Ballet Theatre, and Next Generation Ballet. Though, he preferred studying with Mr. Feray during his summers. He has been selected to dance many great roles at Paris Ballet and Dance, and will continue to do so.
At fifteen years old (turning sixteen, this month), he has a few more years. Riley's future, whatever he may choose, looks extremely bright.
Note: Riley has performed the young boy’s roles in The Nutcracker including Fritz, a Friend of Fritz, the Nutcracker Prince, Nutcracker Double as well as, Mechanical Soldier, Russian, and Russian Soloist.
Victoria Volpe will be dancing the role of Sugar Plum Fairy. She started her dance studies for years at Paris Ballet and Dance as a very young girl. She later moved to School of Ballet Arts, and studied with Deborah Marquez (a former Principal Dancer with Ballet Florida during the same time as Mr. Feray.)
Victoria has achieved so much as a young dancer when she, at the age of twelve years old, was the only one of her age group to place that year at Youth America Grand Prix. She gained a Full-Merit Scholarship to attend School of American Ballet Summer Program (2013), and was also awarded full-scholarship year-round scholarship, and attended School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet. (She was also awarded scholarship at Next Generation Ballet for competing in Youth America Grand Prix in 2014.)
This year, she decided she needed to be at “home”, and returned to Paris Ballet and Dance. She was also immediately accepted into Dreyfoss School of the Arts as a Junior. She has expressed a desire to audition, and perform in overseas companies. With Mr. Feray's expertise, teaching, and coaching, and his “connections” throughout the European Continent, along with her talent, her dreams can definitely come true!
Mr. Feray is very proud to see his students grow while reaching their high goals no matter what careers they choose. He knows the excellent training they receive at Paris Ballet and Dance only enhances their commitment to achieve what they want!
NOVEMBER 13, 2016
Yes, everyone knows it is way too early to be decorating for the Winter Holidays
...But to decorate a tree this size, it takes a lot of time.
Director Jean-Hugues Feray, Tangi Colombel and Karen Manucy spent the entire day putting thousands of glistening and shimmering cleat lights on the brand NEW Christmas Tree for The Nutcracker. Also, keep and eye out for other exciting new additions to this year's production!
NOVEMBER 12, 2016
He may be a rat but he is the King! He has now decided it was time to get some much needed really regal clothing
...And tailor made, of course.
While there are many wonderful things on which to feast one's eyes, look for many new beautiful costumes
in this year's production of The Nutcracker.
NOVEMBER 10, 2016
From Baby Mice, Big Soldiers, The Rat King, Mother Ginger, Snowflakes, Flowers to the Sugar Plum, for the
past few rehearsals, Director Jean-Hugues Feray has been running FULL act run-throughs of The Nutcracker. The studio has been packed with excited dancers waiting to get on stage for this wonderful production.Special rehearsals have also been held during the week to help clean and tighten up everything.
It has also been an honor, privilege, and a great experience for the dancers to be rehearsing with, being coached by, and performing with professionals like, Ben Slayen, Ideal German, Johanna Hurmemaa, Joseph McNamara, and Joseph Bucheck III -- all who have had extraordinary careers, and experience in the dance world!
Kristen Lenihan along with her vast range dance experience and knowledge, and other talents -- has been creating, sewing and fitting costumes, along with the army of volunteer mothers!

Thank you Tangi Colombel for creating the new promotional trailer for The Nutcracker. He also deserves a huge thanks for his dilligent and hard work creating the entire Paris Ballet and Dance, and Paris Ballet Conservatory's YouTube Channel.
Also, among all he does, Mr. Colombel attends every performance, while working as front-of-house manager. After a run of a Paris Ballet and Dance production, when the dancers leave the theatre, he is one of the people who remains behind. He folds scenery, rolls of the Marley floor, packs, rolls costume racks, and loads the trucks. He then goes back to the studio to unload everything. ...See His Website

Paris Ballet and Dance is also very excited while over the Summer and during the first week of Registration, several new students have been accepted into the school. It is always nice to see but it also wonderful to see new girls and boys in class – and on stage!
Private Auditions are still being accepted for The Paris Ballet Conservatory, and Ensemble Advanced Training Program. As always, Private Classes with Mr. Feray can always be scheduled!

HERE'S AN ADDITION TO THE ALREADY 2016/2017 MILESTONE SEASON!
Paris Ballet and Dance is extremely happy to announce a few weeks following the regular performances of The Nutcracker, there will be two performances of -- The Nutcracker Sweet. This will be a smaller, and abbreviated version of the full-length ballet to be performed in a smaller venue on December 17.
This is not to be mistaken for a formal version of The Nutcracker Suite. Paris Ballet and Dance's Sweet version will be featuring many more sections from both the First and Second Act. These additional shows will also allow more students the privilege to be on stage. In addition, for these special performances one of Paris Ballet and Dance talented dancers will be the Sugar Plum Fairy!
